- In your opinion, what is the main trump card of the tourist offer of Vojvodina?
I think it is very hard to talk about the locale where you were born and raised and which you love so much, but since I have been living on the route Novi Sad – New York City for quite a long time, and I have visited a good part of the planet, I can be, at least to an extent objective. Our main trump cards are, of course, phenomenal food and drink, which you can dream of elsewhere, especially at that price. Nature itself is phenomenal and as soon as the infrastructure is arranged, everything will shine in full splendor, with the Danube, the Tisza, Fruška Gora and other pearls at the forefront! We should definitely not forget the fun and nightlife, music, hospitality and the most beautiful women in the world!
- Can you recommend a hidden gem and tell us about where you had an unforgettable concert in Vojvodina and why?
There are a million hidden gems! I adore Fruška Gora and its little-known 16 lakes, as well as the unsurpassed Ledinci, Čortanovci, Banoštor, Susek, and the whole of Srem! I am a son-in-law from Sombor, so I can warmly recommend the whole district. Within the distance of about 30 kilometers, there are 5-6 different waters, canals, Danube and several beautiful and very old csardas! Legendary people from Bezdan, Monostor, Apatin and Sombor are very vain and possessive of their culinary recipes and there is no improvisation!
We played all over the region and beyond, but our best and favorite concerts were always at home in NS, ZR and BG, where we were most warmly received.
- What is your favorite Vojvodina dish and do you know how to prepare it?
Well, this is a very tricky question, so it would be easier for me to answer what I don’t like, even though I eat it… I certainly like the least that slava (Saint’s Day) menu the best: pork, Russian salad and cabbage rolls, but sometimes I crave it so much that I can’t stop! I don’t like traditional pasta either! The one with cheese, then the Grenadier March, and what I hate most is pasta with poppy seeds! If I had to single out what I like best, they are certainly giblets, all the game, the kid, the lamb, and the older I get, the more I respect it, even if I have always loved mutton, roosters and ducks! The rule is that there are no rules and in almost every city on the planet I have my own bar, restaurant, csarda, but we would need 100 newsletters for that!
