According to official data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, AP Vojvodina welcomed a total of 489,321 tourists from January to August 2024, reflecting a 5.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Domestic tourists numbered 236,115, marking a 3.6% rise, while the number of foreign visitors grew by 7.4%, reaching 253,206 arrivals compared to the first eight months of the previous year.
The total number of overnight stays for eight months of this year in the Province amounted to 1,357,157 overnight stays, which represents a total increase of 4.1%. In the first eight months of this year, domestic tourists had 640,523 overnight stays, while foreign tourists had 716,634 overnight stays, which represents an increase of 8.9% compared to the same period last year.
The most visited cities were Novi Sad, with 156,938 arrivals (a 2.8% increase) and 388,199 overnight stays (a 2.2% increase), and Subotica, which recorded 97,912 tourist arrivals and 222,070 overnight stays. The top spa destination was Vrdnik Spa, attracting a total of 71,522 visitors—an impressive 24% increase—and reporting 163,945 overnight stays, reflecting an 11.2% rise compared to the same period last year.
Fruška Gora remains a highly popular destination for both domestic and foreign tourists, as shown by statistical data on visits to the national park. During the first eight months, the area recorded 75,270 tourist arrivals, reflecting a significant 25.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Domestic tourists accounted for 49,266 arrivals (a 14.1% increase), while foreign tourist arrivals reached 26,004, marking a remarkable 56.5% rise over the previous year.
In August of this year, the Information Center of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina primarily attracted domestic tourists, while the majority of foreign visitors came from Germany, Romania, Slovenia, Great Britain, and Russia.
