On October 25, 2024, the Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) organized a meeting in Skopje, North Macedonia, bringing together tourism industry representatives from both Serbia and North Macedonia. The event, which attracted significant media attention, began with speeches from key figures including TOS Director Marija Labović, Serbian Ambassador to North Macedonia Nevena Jovanović, Slobodan Blaževski, an advisor for tourism in North Macedonia’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, influencer Ana Gaberova, and TOS Regional Markets Manager Gordana Cvetković.
The Tourism Organization of Vojvodina participated in the event through business-to-business (B2B) workshops, where it established numerous contacts with North Macedonia’s tourism sector. Nataša Pavlović PhD, Director of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, highlighted key tourism offerings in the province during her conversation with Ambassador Jovanović, noting that in 2023, Vrdnik Spa ranked as the second most visited spa in Serbia for foreign tourists. Tourism organizations from Niš, Novi Pazar, Raška, Sokobanja, Čačak, Zlatibor, and Vrnjačka Banja, along with 36 hotels and travel agencies from Serbia and 40 North Macedonian tourism representatives, attended the event.
According to official data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, Vojvodina welcomed 11,387 visitors from North Macedonia in 2023, a 9.8% increase from 2022. North Macedonian visitors spent 24,726 nights in the province, marking a 14% increase compared to the previous year. Visitors from North Macedonia ranked tenth in terms of foreign tourist arrivals to Vojvodina in 2023.
