As part of the second edition of the event “Promotion of Serbia’s Tourism Offer”, a two-day event dedicated to the promotion of Serbia’s tourism attractions was held in Timișoara.

On the first day of the event, May 7, 2026, a press conference was held at Hotel Timișoara. Representatives of diplomatic institutions, local authorities, and tourism industry stakeholders from both Serbia and Romania attended the conference.

On that occasion, Ivana Jakšić Matović, Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Timișoara, emphasized the continuous growth of tourism exchange between the two countries and the importance of developing joint tourism products.

She highlighted that Serbia and Romania, as neighboring countries, are successfully connected through various forms of cooperation, with tourism playing an important role, and noted that Romania is among the top ten most important foreign markets for Serbia in terms of tourist arrivals and overnight stays. Among the participants were also representatives of the Union of Serbs in Romania, local and provincial institutions, as well as tourism organizations from Serbia.

The second day of the event was dedicated to a public promotion held at Victory Square in the center of Timișoara, featuring a cultural and artistic program alongside presentations of tourism offers and promotional materials. Numerous local tourism organizations from Vojvodina participated in the promotion, including:

  • Tourist Organization of Vojvodina
  • Tourist Organization of Vršac
  • Tourist Organization of Bačka Topola
  • Tourist Organization of Kikinda

In addition to the organizations from Vojvodina, tourism organizations from other parts of Serbia also presented their offers, further highlighting the diversity and richness of the country’s tourism potential.

Citizens of Timișoara had the opportunity to learn more about Serbian traditions, cultural heritage, and hospitality through interactive presentations and meetings with representatives of tourism organizations.

The program additionally contributed to strengthening Serbia’s visibility as an attractive tourist destination on the Romanian market, particularly in the segments of cultural and weekend tourism.
