Readers of the Russian Gazette have recently had the opportunity to get acquainted with the tourism offerings of Serbia as part of the special supplement titled "Discover Serbia" in the print and online editions of these Russian daily newspapers.
Tourist attractions of Vojvodina are presented on the web portal rg.ru/serbiya2021/, as well as through the social network accounts of the Russian Gazette. The promotion of the tourism offering of Vojvodina in this way represents the continuation of the active campaign of increasing the visibility of Vojvodina as a tourist destination in the Russian market. Namely, in November 2020, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina hosted leading tour operators and travel agencies from Russia.
According to the official data of the Statistical Office of the RS in 2020, which was affected by the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, tourists from the Russian Federation were in the seventh place in terms of the number of arrivals when it comes to the country of origin of foreign tourists. In 2020, Vojvodina was visited by 2,811 tourists from Russia, while the number of overnight stays was 9,497. The average length of stay of Russian tourists on the territory of Vojvodina in 2020 was 3.4 days. Based on the data obtained from the visitors from the Russian Federation who visit the info point of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, they most often state the farms, cultural heritage and gastronomy of Vojvodina as the reason for the visit.
