The 5th international festival “Novi Sad – Tango City” will be held from 23rd to 26th August 2018 in Novi Sad. The festival will be organized by the association “Todo Tango”, on several locations in the city. The festival features a concert, a scientific lecture, a screening of documentaries, a tango seminar, dance evenings and other events intended not only for dancers, but also for all fans of tango music and dance, but also of the Argentinian culture in general.
In the Matica Srpska Gallery, the already traditional “SciTango” will be held – a unique lecture in which we connect tango and science, and this year’s lecturer is Roman Balvanović PhD from the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences.
Short documentary films on tango will be screened at the Matica Srpska Gallery. Author Leonel Miter brings his famous Cinefilia Tanguera Traveling Festival from Buenos Aires to Novi Sad and officially starts touring Eastern Europe.
Novi Sad will welcome maestro Anhel Kori, one of the most famous and recognized tango teachers and choreographers of today, both in Argentina and around the world. Together with him, the tangueros will benefit from the knowledge and experience in dance shared by maestra Claudia Sortino from Italy.
The festival will also feature “Tamburitza Tango” concert – the famous Beltango Quintet from Belgrade, one of the best tango orchestras in the world, and the Grand Tamburitza Orchestra of Radio Television of Vojvodina will perform together. Visitors will thus have a unique opportunity to enjoy the music of the greatest Argentine tango composers in the Vojvodina way in Novi Sad’s synagogue.
