Event tourism is very popular in Serbia and there is a growing number of foreign and especially domestic tourists visiting the cities and villages of Vojvodina where numerous events are organized. Vojvodina is recognizable for its numerous events from cultural to gastronomic, recreational and other. These programs are original and creative, and the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina strives to support their organization and promotion.
October marks the birthday of our great scientist, Mihajlo Pupin, recognized and celebrated around the world. Idvor, the place where Pupin was born, marks this day with an event of a scientific and cultural-entertaining character in the People’s Hall. The cultural events we also wish to highlight are: Nova Festival in Pancevo, Festival of Church Choirs in Backa Palanka, Vrsac Theater Autumn, Festival of Tamburitza Orchestras of Serbia in Ruma and Autumn Festival of Jewish Culture in Subotica.
The October gastronomic spectacles – Banat Frustuk in Kovin, the Apple Festival in Crepaja, then at the South Backa Festival in Temerin, the Hungarian Cuisine Days in Skoren, the competition for cooking stew in Backa Palanka – give visitors the opportunity to taste delicious specialties of Vojvodina. One of the gastronomic events that is very original and visited is the Oklagija Festival (Rolling Pin Festival) in Radojevo.
Fans of the Tisa, Tisa captains and vessels will gather at the Tisa Captains Days in Novi Becej, and Stukijada (Pike Fest) will be held in Savino Selo on the Danube-Tisa-Danube channel.
Vojvodina’s vast and abundant plains in October are adorned by corn fields, and during the month numerous events are organized dedicated to the harvesting of this cereal.
The province’s capital will host the Novi Sad Night Bazaar, the Novi Sad October Fest, the “Csarda and Banda” Festival and many other events.
The International Children’s Festival and the Race for a Happier Childhood, which brings together over 5,000 children in Kikinda, followed by Children’s Week in Beocin and the Children’s Theater Festival in Jabuka are some of the events dedicated to children.
