According to the official data of the Statistical Office of the Republic, in April in AP Vojvodina there was an increase in the number of tourist arrivals in the amount of as much as 94.4% (54,845 arrivals) compared to the same month last year. The increase in the arrivals of domestic tourists amounted to 43.8% (30,979 arrivals), while the number of foreign tourists increased by as much as 257.9% (23,866 arrivals) compared to April 2021.
The increase in the total number of overnight stays in April was 49.1% (144,018 overnight stays), while the increase in the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists was up 25.6% (74197 overnight stays) and foreign tourists 86.2% (69,821 overnight stays) compared to the same month of 2021.
If we look at the period of the first four months of 2022, we can see an increase in the total number of arrivals in the amount of 83.2% (162,995 arrivals), compared to the same period last year. The increase in the number of overnight stays in the period from January to April 2022 amounted to 50.8% (475,371 overnight stays) compared to the same period last year. The most visited cities were Novi Sad and Subotica, while the most visited spa was Banja Vrdnik, where there was an increase in the number of arrivals by 77.9% and an increase in the number of overnight stays by 74.1%, compared to the same period in 2021.
If we compare the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays in Vojvodina for the first four months of this year with the data from 2019, which saw a record number of tourists, we come to the conclusion that the number of tourists in the first four months of this year exceeded the number of arrivals and overnight stays in 2019. Namely, the number of tourist arrivals in the period from January to April this year is higher compared to the same period of record 2019 by 18.76%, while the number of overnight stays increased by as much as 43.41% compared to the first four months of the mentioned 2019.
