INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF OVERNIGH STAYS IN VOJVODINA

According to official data of the Statistics Office of the Republic of Serbia, in the period from January 2018 to June 2018, Vojvodina was visited by 247,087 tourists, an 11.1% increase year over year. The number of foreign tourist arrivals in the same period this year is higher by 17.5% (111.622 tourists) compared to 2017. It is particularly important to note that the number of foreign tourist overnight stays for the first half of 2018 has increased by 22% (243,139 overnight stays) year over year. The increase in the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists is at 11.6% (339.467 nights). The largest share in the number of overnight stays in the first half of 2018 was in Novi Sad with an increase in the total number of overnight stays by 29.3% (203,437 overnight stays) year over year. The number of tourist arrivals for June 2018 for the territory of AP Vojvodina has increased by 11% (49,003 tourists) year over year. The number of foreign tourist arrivals has increased significantly and amounted to 25,743 tourists, which is 16.6% more than in 2017. The number of overnight stays in June 2018 has increased by 14.5% (121,839 overnight stays), while the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists has increased by 15.9% (54.926 nights). Of course, Novi Sad recorded the largest increase in the number of tourist overnight stays in June, by 35.4% (43,283 overnight stays), which is mostly related to the Exit Festival.
