We are at the very end of 2021, a year which had us face many a challenge. The COVID-19 pandemic has made tourism professionals find solutions to the new circumstances and adapt their business to the epidemiological situation.
Since the beginning of 2021, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina has realized numerous activities, campaigns and projects, which has influenced the increase of tourist traffic in the Province. The tourist offer of Vojvodina was presented at the events “Get to Know Serbia” in Belgrade and Novi Sad, at the Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, the International Fair of Tourism and Rural Tourism in Kragujevac, the event Vinofest 2021 in Vršac, Čvarak Fest in Kać, the event “I choose Serbia” on Mt. Avala. During 2021, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina was a participant in numerous online conferences that addressed the topic of tourism recovery, overcoming the problems caused by corona virus and improving the tourist offer. Tourist products and offer of the Province were presented in the magazine and portal of the Russian Gazette, while the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina was a participant at the Russian-Serbian Cultural Forum, which was held in Belgrade.
The Days of Vojvodina event was held on the Sava Promenade in Belgrade in June this year, in August in Slovenia, Ljubljana and Koper. The Days of Vojvodina in the Republic of Srpska started in October, as the first presentation of Vojvodina as a tourist destination in the Republic of Srpska held in Bijeljina, while the next event was held in Banja Luka in November. The Days of Vojvodina is a very important event, which has been held for several years now both in the country and abroad and is of great interest to media and visitors. The importance of this event is reflected in direct contact with potential visitors.
In July, in Kikinda, an event called “Tourist Meetings” was organized. The event brought together numerous tourist organizations from the Province. “Tourist Meetings” were organized by the Tourism Organization of Kikinda with the support of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina and the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism.
At the beginning of the year, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Vojvodina published an exclusive edition of the magazine “Balkan Travel Vojvodina”, where Vojvodina was presented as a prestigious tourist destination in the region with all top tourist products and brands. The readers have the chance to learn about different types of tourist offer of this dynamic flatland in the north of Serbia, as well as about numerous facilities that contribute to the unique experience of Vojvodina as a very attractive tourist destination. A number of prominent figures from the world of culture, art and sports shared with the readers the experiences from vacationing in Vojvodina.
The campaign that attracted a lot of attention this year is the campaign called the Vojvodina Lunch. The gastronomy of Vojvodina is an important topic from the point of view of tradition and culture of the peoples who inhabit this region, and it is often one of the motives for a tourist visit to Vojvodina. In order to unite the gastronomic offer of Vojvodina and increase the visibility of authentic gastronomic products on the wider tourist market, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina has created the campaign titled the Vojvodina Lunch – the Irresistible Taste of the Flatlands. In the previous period, with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, an exclusive printed edition of the Vojvodina Lunch cookbook was created, which takes us through farms, csardas, restaurants that offer traditional Vojvodina dishes. In the mentioned edition of the cookbook, there are numerous authentic recipes of traditional Vojvodina specialties. As part of the Vojvodina Lunch campaign, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina launched a digital campaign on social networks, the Facebook page of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina and the Instagram account of vojvodina.travel. Through this campaign, the followers have the opportunity to get acquainted with the recipes of authentic Vojvodina specialties and enjoy the clips presenting the Vojvodina gastronomy in an inspiring and attractive way. An important aspect of this campaign is the website for the Vojvodina Lunch will be created with a database of hospitality facilities (farms, csardas, restaurants, wineries) in the area of the AP Vojvodina which offer traditional Vojvodina dishes. This is a go-to website for the authentic recipes in one place, a list of restaurants serving Vojvodina dishes, as well as news about the campaign.
A campaign called Vojvodina Village was launched on the social networks by the Tourist Organization of Vojvodina in September. What do the villages in Vojvodina offer, is a village only about agriculture, which is the largest and which is the smallest village in Vojvodina, why is Vojvodina called a dynamic and exciting flatland, all this and many other interesting things are presented through this campaign, which has generated great interest of the public.
In the period from January to the end of November 2021, the Info Center of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina was mostly visited by domestic tourists, and when it comes to foreign tourists, tourists from Russia are in the first place, followed by visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Turkey, India, France, and Hungary.
