The work of the citizens’ association “Etnodom Gorocvet Inđija” was promoted through an interactive workshop held at the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina Info Centre.
The media were addressed by Milivoj Kovačević, Director of the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina, and Jovanka Šovljanski, founder and president of the association.
“Our goal and desire was to present ‘Etnodom Gorocvet Inđija’ as an association that nurtures the culture and tradition of our region. Today’s promotion showcased their souvenirs bearing the ‘Best of Vojvodina’ label, which is a testament to their quality. The work of ‘Etnodom Gorocvet Inđija’ is the prime example of how tradition should be preserved and passed down to younger generations. This association has been active for twenty years, contributing to the enhanced visibility of Vojvodina as a tourist destination. In that spirit, my message is – Come and experience Vojvodina,” pointed out Director Kovačević.
Expressing her gratitude to the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina, Jovanka Šovljanski stated:
“The work of the association focuses on preserving tradition by passing down traditional handicraft skills to children and young people. We nurture our cultural heritage with a special emphasis on old crafts, primarily the technique of goldwork embroidery. The association has participated in numerous other projects, competitions, festivals, and educational workshops, thereby helping to raise awareness about the importance of traditional crafts and the preservation of national identity. Goldwork is one of the finest techniques of Serbian art. Love is woven into every piece we create, serving as a bridge connecting the past and the present.”
Association products can be purchased at the “Karaka” shop located at 47a Novosadska Street, Inđija.
