FRUŠKA GORA WALK & WINE 2024

Fruška Gora Walk & Wine 2024 will take place on Sunday, June 9, in Irig. This event represents a unique journey through the vineyards of Fruška Gora that will allow you to experience an unforgettable adventure and immerse yourself in the magical world of this wine region. Walk & Wine is more than a walk; it is a harmony of nature, wine, gastronomy, and stories waiting to be told about the wine tradition in these areas.

On a 7.6 km long circular hiking route, wine lovers will have the opportunity to taste top Fruška Gora wines at six tasting points and enjoy the flavors of local specialties. An inspiring walk through the vineyards of Fruška Gora starts on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from the central square in Irig (Ribarski trg), and tours are organized on the hour, beginning at noon. At the start, walkers-wine drinkers will be greeted at welcome desk, where they will pick up a start package with a wine-tasting glass and a tote bag, six wine-tasting vouchers, a route map, refreshments, and a souvenir.

Planned walks are in groups of up to 70 visitors with a guide.

Walking along the route of Fruška Gora wine walk, visitors will pass by the urban part of Irig, a picturesque Srem settlement, the Novo Hopovo monastery, Irig vineyards, Fruška Gora traditional farms, a natural spring from the time of Maria Theresa. They will return to the main square (Ribarski trg) through the Church of St. Nicholas churchyard.

After the walk, at the starting point—and at the same time the endpoint—the main downtown square (Ribarski trg), visitors can select and purchase the authentic local wines they tasted during the hedonistic walk directly from the producers.

The Tourism Organization of Vojvodina organizes the event with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth, the Provincial Government, the Municipality of Irig, the Fruška Gora National Park, the Association of Producers of Grapes and Wines with the Designation of Geographical Origin “Srem-Fruška Gora,” the Guarantee Fund of AP Vojvodina, the Development Fund of Vojvodina, and Wine Capital.
