THE BAPTIST CHURCH – Pačir

The founder of the Community Baptist Church in Pačir was Banai Tot Šandor from Butsentmihalj. Njiređhazi also joined a community. In the beginning the members of Pačir branch gathered together in their homes and houses where they sang, prayed and listened to the word of God .Eventually the community expanded and progressed in spite of the difficulties. The first public Baptism was held in 1923 at the local beach .The activities of the founder: In addition to the leadership of Pačir community he had also been the leader of the Hungarian national minority in Vojvodina for decades. His work was significant in the international mission in the time of communism: He performed the illegal filming and broadcasting for the Trans World Radio from Monte Carlo, audio messages of the spiritual leaders from Hungary and Transylvania in the Hungarian language. He edited the newspaper named “Spiritual Life,” which had been issued in several countries for over 23 years. Since the 90s the leader of the community has been Njul Zoltan.
