ORTHODOX CHURCH OF SAINT BASIL OF OSTROG – Sirig
The Orthodox Church of St. Vasilije Ostroski in Sirig was founded on May 12th in 1992. The church was designed by a building engineer Branislav Kosovic from Backa Topola. The whole of activity around preparations and building itself of the church was under leadership of Municipality church Committe of Serbian Orthodox church in Sirig. The consecration of the church was done by diocesan of Backa phd. Irinej Bulovic and diocesan of Baranja Lukijan. The first priest in Sirig was Cvetko Milivojevic, placed there on Nov.1st in 1996. The first mass was held in the building church on Nov.17th in 1996. Today, Sirig church municipality belongs to Backa rectory, however, it is an indipendent rectory of Sirig.
