“MARCIBÁNYI” CASTLE – Čoka
Početna / Experiences / “MARCIBÁNYI” CASTLE – Čoka
The castle was built by the Marčibányi family after 1781, when Lerinc Marčibányi purchased the Čoka estate. The construction of the castle was only completed by the next owner, Karolj Schwab, around 1870. Artur and Karolj Lederer bought the property at the end of the 19th century. It remained in the possession of the Lederer spahi family, one of the wealthiest Jewish families of that time, until the Second World War. During the war, the castle was temporarily owned by the occupying forces.
After the war, in 1950, the agricultural estate “Čoka” was established, which still uses the castle as its administrative building. The building is in good condition. The castle is a cultural monument of great importance.
The castle is not open to visitors.
