“KARAŠ” ECO ZONE – JASENOVO – Jasenovo

This village, situated halfway between Bela Crkva and Vršac, takes its name from a species of tree. The River Karaš, which rises in Romania, flows nearby. Although it passes through flat terrain, the river is remarkably fast-flowing and has distinctive characteristics. Its unique appeal is further enhanced by small waterfalls and cascades, locally known as gatovi, which give the area its distinctive character. Thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of local individuals, the area has been transformed into a beautifully maintained recreational setting, offering visitors the perfect place to relax and unwind. In addition to sports facilities, a summer restaurant, campsite and beach, there is also a sculpture park, which is expanded every year through an artists’ colony held in early August.
