The castle was built on the edge of a forest near the village of Konak in 1835 for Petar Jagodić. The Jagodić family is significant for the cultural history of the Serbian people in Vojvodina. The Jagodić family members were prominent members of Matica Srpska, and several of their portraits, painted by Konstantin Danil, are displayed in the Gallery of Matica Srpska.
After a long period of neglect, the restoration of the building began in 2007. The castle is a cultural monument of great importance. The Jagodić Castle Park is a protected natural monument.
The castle is not open to visitors!
