CHARDA “KAMENJAR” – Novi Sad

CHARDA “KAMENJAR” – Novi Sad

Carda “Kamenjar” is situated on the left bank of the Danube, in the old part of the namesake holiday camp in Novi Sad. This Carda is attended by doctors, politicians, football players, campers, bohemians, fishermen, and all of those who like nature. Despite the vicinity of the big city, Carda is situated in the center of the Danube coolness and across the lavish beauty of nature on the opposite bank from where the slopes of Fruska Gora rise, which are enhanced with dense woods of willow and poplar.

Carda is often visited by artists. An art colony is organized every September. The artists put the Danube landscapes on canvas using brushes and colors. The actors and poets participate in this creative process. Also, the competitions in cooking fish broth and stew take place here every Friday in July and August. Many competitors participate accompanied by tamburitza bands. Carda’s staff organizes transport to “Mackov sprud” (Cat’s Bank), a beautiful beach on the opposite bank of the Danube.

Moreover, we organize the sightseeing of the nearby Danube landscapes by boat. The cardas are places where people come to taste good fish dishes. From our menu, we recommend fish appetizer, fish broth, and “dimljena vesalica od tolstolobika” (a smoked grilled strip of bighead). Carda is also attractive for the vicinity and the coolness of the water and memorable Danube panorama and sunset. Carda has 180 seats altogether in the halls and on the terraces and pontoon. We provide accommodation in nearby weekend cottages. There is also a car park for 20 vehicles and moorings for boats. Tamburitza bands play regularly.
