The Days of Vojvodina event was held in Belgrade, Skadarlija, from October 15th to October 16th, 2019. In front of the restaurant Velika Skadarlija, Belgraders and many tourists, were presented the tourist offer of AP Vojvodina and the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, the 21 local tourism organization, as well as numerous producers of food, souvenirs, women’s associations and winemakers. Numerous visitors had the opportunity to taste the local gastronomic specialties of Vojvodina, quality wines and enjoy the sounds of the tamburitza orchestra “From Bach to Sevdah”. On the first day of the event, in the garden of the restaurant Velika Skadarlija, there was a competition in cooking fish stew for the media. Eight journalists’ teams took part in the competition, while the best won valuable prizes, a gift from local tourism organizations of Vojvodina.
On the second day of the event, at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade, a panel was organized with the title “The Treasury of Tastes of Vojvodina”, which was also the presentation of the publication “The Treasure of Tastes of Vojvodina”. This unique publication was designed, with the support of DDOR Insurance, by the international Slow Food Convivium Association and experts from the Scientific Institute of Food Technology in Novi Sad.
Visitors showed great interest in the gastronomy of Vojvodina, precisely because Vojvodina cuisine retained the spirit of old times, slowly and patiently prepared food, with home-grown food grown in the gardens of housewives of Vojvodina.
