BUSINESS MEETINGS OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY OF SPAIN AND SERBIA

On Friday, November 1, at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade, the Tourism Organization of Belgrade organized business meetings between Spanish tour operators and the Serbian tourism industry. The attendees were welcomed by Miodrag Popović, Acting Director of the Tourism Organization of Belgrade, H.E. Juan José Sanz Aparicio, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Serbia, Višnja Rakić, Assistant Minister for tourism in the Ministry of Tourism and Youth, and Željko Stojčić, Senior Manager of Agency, Corporate, and Charter Sales at Air Serbia. After presenting Belgrade’s tourism offerings, the business meetings commenced.

Nataša Pavlović PhD, Director of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, presented the full range of tourism offerings from the province to the Spanish tour operators, focusing on city centers, hotel facilities, and the opportunities in rural, wine, and gastronomic tourism. The group also discussed the potential for organizing congresses, business events, and smaller promotional events in Spain.

Spanish tourism industry representatives who participated in the business meetings included Five Star Club, Icarion, Europa Travel, Portugal Tours, World Destinations, Servivuelo, Pax Gira SL, SENDAS of Europe, VDT Group, Henneo Group, and Aviareps Spain.

According to the latest available data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, 2,600 tourists from Spain visited Vojvodina in 2023, a 26.4% increase compared to 2022. These visitors recorded 7,162 overnight stays, reflecting a 22.4% increase from the previous year.
