According to the official data of the Statistics Office of the Republic of Serbia, 707,599 tourists visited AP Vojvodina in the period from January to December 2023, a 2.9% increase year over year. Of that number, there were 346,086 arrivals of domestic tourists and 361,513 arrivals of foreign tourists – an increase of as much as 8.2% compared to the year 2022. The mentioned tourist traffic exceeded the results from 2019 by 25.9%, which was a record year for tourist traffic.
The total number of overnight stays in the Province in 2023 is 1,948,684. Domestic tourists had 965,017 overnight stays and foreign 983,667 stays – an increase of as much as 4.5% compared to the year 2022.
The most visited city in 2023 was Novi Sad, with 234,708 arrivals and 567,926 tourist overnight stays. It is followed by Subotica with 154,940 arrivals and 351,285 overnight stays, Sombor with 18,089 arrivals and 47,028 overnight stays, and Vršac with 17,370 arrivals and 38,457 overnight stays. The most visited spa is the Vrdnik spa, with an increase in tourist arrivals by 13.2% and an increase in the number of overnight stays by 9%. Mt. Fruška Gora was a very desirable destination in 2023, both for domestic and foreign tourists, with 93,688 total arrivals, which represents an increase of 15% compared to 2022.
When it comes to the country of origin of foreign tourists, in 2023 the Province was mostly visited by tourists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Slovenia and the Russian Federation.
In the previous year, the Info Center of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina was mostly visited by domestic tourists, while the majority of foreign tourists were visitors from the Russian Federation, Germany, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Croatia, etc.
