A RECORD NUMBER OF VISITORS IN AP VOJVODINA FOR THE FIRST FIVE MONTHS OF 2022

Official data of the Republic Statistical Office for the first five months of 2022 show an upward trend in tourist traffic in Vojvodina. Namely, the period saw an increase in the total number of tourist arrivals by 89.9% (236,767 arrivals) compared to the same period last year. The number of arrivals of domestic tourists increased by 44.5% (135,588 arrivals), while the number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by as much as 228.3% (101,179 arrivals), compared to first five months of 2021.


In the same period, a total of 657,034 overnight stays were realized, which represents an increase of 50.4% compared to the same period last year. The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists increased by 24.2% (350,517 overnight stays), while the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists increased by as much as 98.2% (306,517 overnight stays), compared to first five months last year.


An increase in the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays was recorded in most of the municipalities in Vojvodina. Novi Sad recorded an increase in the total number of tourist arrivals by 127.8%, domestic tourists by 66.7%, and foreign tourists by 226.9% compared to the same period last year. Subotica records an increase in the total number of arrivals by 124.5%, domestic tourists by 50.5% and foreign tourists by 284.3% compared to the same period in 2021. The city of Vršac recorded a record increase in the number of visitors compared to last year, an increase in the total number of arrivals by 110.9%, domestic tourists by 66.9% and foreign tourists by 343.6% compared to the same period of the previous year. Also, when it comes to overnight stays in Vršac, there was an increase in the total number of overnight stays by 134.9%, domestic tourists by 82.8%, and foreign tourists by 363.9%. The most visited spa in the mentioned period was the Vrdnik Spa.


According to the internal statistics of the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, in the period from January to May 2022, the Info Center was visited mostly by tourists from Germany, Slovenia, Russia, Croatia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and Switzerland. Visits of tourists from Israel, the Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Colombia, Saudi Arabia and many other countries have been recorded in the Info Center.
