20 Years of Vinofest: Showcasing the Best of Vojvodina in Vršac

The 20th anniversary edition of Vinofest, Vršac’s annual wine festival, was held on 3 and 4 July in Vršac, reaffirming its status as one of the most significant wine events in Serbia and the region. Over the course of two days, the festival brought together numerous wineries, winemakers, food producers, exhibitors, and wine enthusiasts from Serbia and abroad, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy a rich wine and gastronomy selection, a diverse cultural and entertainment programme, and the renowned hospitality of the town nestled beneath the Vršac Hills. The event has an exhibition and sales character and traditionally includes a professional wine quality evaluation attended by experts in the field of viticulture and winemaking.

This year’s Vinofest was held at a new venue—the City Park—providing visitors with an even more attractive setting for tasting premium wines and discovering the rich wine heritage of Vršac, a town whose vineyards and winemaking tradition have been among the most recognizable symbols of this part of Banat for centuries.

The Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina also participated in the event, presenting the Province’s diverse tourism offer at its promotional stand. Visitors had access to promotional materials and printed publications showcasing the tourism attractions of all parts of Vojvodina—from urban destinations and cultural and historical heritage to natural attractions, active holidays, as well as event and wine & gastronomy tourism. In this way, Vojvodina was further promoted as an attractive destination for both domestic and international visitors.

Year after year, Vinofest continues to demonstrate its importance for the development of wine and event tourism, while also promoting local producers, preserving the region’s winemaking tradition, and strengthening the tourism identity of both Vršac and Vojvodina. Thanks to the large number of exhibitors and visitors, the festival serves as an important platform connecting the wine industry, tourism, and culture, thereby contributing to the overall development of the tourism offer of this part of Serbia.
