12th “CIKLOBAČ” Set to Take Place in Bač

At the Information Centre of the Tourist Organization of Vojvodina, a press conference was held on June 17 to promote the international cycling and recreational event “Ciklobač”, organized by the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Bač.

At the conference, Branka Mandić, Acting Director of the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Bač, presented the programme, activities, and significance of this year’s event.

“This event has been organized for twelve years and brings together participants of all generations with the aim of promoting recreational cycling, a healthy lifestyle, and the exploration of the natural, cultural, and historical values of Bač. Participants can choose between a shorter and a longer cycling route, both passing through the most important sites in the area. The event is one of the most significant recreational and tourism happenings in the Municipality of Bač. We invite visitors to join us on Sunday, June 21,” emphasized Ms. Mandić.

In addition to the cycling event, the Information Centre also presented the project “Traditional Crafts in a Contemporary Medieval Village”. Miodrag Ćulum, Director of the “Vuk Karadžić” Library in Bač, addressed those present and provided further insight into the project activities:

“On Thursday, June 25, starting at 5:00 PM, the Bač Fortress will come alive with the spirit of a time when traditional crafts formed the foundation of everyday life, and knowledge and skills were passed down from generation to generation. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to travel through time and not only see but truly experience the Middle Ages. Everyone who attends will be able to learn about calligraphy, icon painting, the crafting of knightly armor components, and pottery using a traditional potter’s wheel. A special part of the programme will be dedicated to wool spinning and medieval cuisine. Participation in all activities is free of charge. The project has been supported by the Ministry of Culture of Serbia, with the support of the Municipality of Bač and in cooperation with the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Bač,” said Miodrag Ćulum.
