At the end of 2018, the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina started the implementation of the IDENTIS project, in cooperation with partners from the Hungarian county of Congrad. The project aims to increase the visibility of the tourism offer of the Tisa region, both from the Serbian and Hungarian side. The Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, which is the leading partner in the project, has developed a database – web site, which covers all key entities in the municipality along the Tisa River. Seminars and workshops have been held in Senta, Zrenjanin, Novi Bečej and Novi Sad. As promotion of the tourist offer is a complex job, each workshop discussed key topics and ways to improve tourism in the Tisa region. Good practices from both countries were presented, advanced technologies discussed, as powerful marketing tools in promoting and presenting tourist destinations, ways of branding and promoting regions and tourism products, how to implement the concept of sustainable tourism development. Local self-governments, tourist organizations, tourist agencies, businessmen, stakeholders are involved in the project. All these entities have shown a great desire and willingness to participate in the implementation of the IDENTIS project, which will certainly have a positive impact on the project results and better implementation in the tourist destinations themselves. Also, networking of all these entities, both in Serbia and Hungary, and the creation of a unique tourism product will be one of the results of the project. A strategy for tourism development in the Tisa region is under preparation, which will include, among other things, proposals for tourism routes for the region. Project partners from Hungary have also held a series of workshops and seminars in Szeged, Mako, Morohalom. They have also created propaganda material.
IDENTIS project ends on April 30. This project will have a great impact on improving the tourism offer of the Tisa region and creating a competitive region in the wider tourism market.
