GOLDEN CAULDRON – Žabalj

The “Golden Cauldron of the Municipality of Žabalj” event once again brings together lovers of traditional cuisine, anglers, competitors, and numerous visitors on the picturesque banks of the Jegrička River in Žabalj. Scheduled to take place on 26 July 2026, it is one of the municipality’s most important gastronomic events, where teams from across Vojvodina and Serbia compete to prepare the finest fish soup.

The tradition of the “Golden Cauldron” dates back to 2000 and has been successfully preserved for more than two decades by the “Mladost Jegrička” Sports Fishing Association, with the support of the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Žabalj and the local government.

In addition to the fish soup cooking competition, visitors can enjoy a welcoming atmosphere, socialising in nature, an authentic gastronomic experience, and a variety of accompanying activities, making the event an ideal gathering for families, friends, and everyone who appreciates the traditions of Vojvodina.
