SENTA CITY DAY

The programme marking Senta City Day is a multi-day celebration traditionally held around 11 September, the anniversary of the Battle of Senta (1697), one of the most significant historical events in the history of the city.

The programme begins during the first weekend with performances by groups dedicated to preserving traditional culture and folklore, who bring the rich cultural heritage of the region to life through traditional dances, music and customs. Over the following days, a variety of cultural, sporting and literary events take place, offering something for visitors of all generations.

On the anniversary of the battle, the 11th of September, a ceremonial session is held, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial site, paying tribute to the city’s historical heritage and the significance of this event. On 12 and 13 September, major city concerts are held, forming the highlight of the celebration. On Saturday, following the main evening concert, visitors can also enjoy a spectacular fireworks display, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Alongside the Senta City Day programme, the International Hot Air Balloon Festival and the children’s event “Children’s World – Tiski Cvet” are also held, further enriching the programme and making this celebration one of the most significant annual events in Senta.
