Representatives of the Tourist Organization of Vojvodina participated in the kick-off meeting of the CAST project (Culture trAnSforming communiTies and economies), held on June 4–5, 2025, in Višnja Gora, Slovenia. The event brought together partners from 11 European countries with the aim of networking and collaborating on strengthening cultural identity and sustainable tourism.

Partners had the opportunity to get to know each other through interactive workshops and to present their pilot projects in a “speed dating” format, which encouraged mutual cooperation and the exchange of experiences.

In addition to the working sessions, participants visited several examples of good practice – an educational beehive, the Rogelj beekeeping farm, and the Pristava tourist village – further contributing to an understanding of local potentials for the development of sustainable tourism.

On the second day of the event, the mayor of the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica addressed the partners, followed by workshops focused on defining common goals and competencies, as well as preparing indicators for monitoring the project’s performance. Special attention was given to communication activities and planning the next steps and upcoming meetings.

The meeting concluded with a study visit to the birthplace of the renowned Slovenian writer Josip Jurčič, further highlighting the importance of preserving cultural heritage as a foundation for tourism development.

By participating in this event, the Tourist Organization of Vojvodina actively contributes to international cooperation in the fields of tourism and culture, with the aim of developing innovative and sustainable approaches to promoting local identities.
