NATIONAL LIBRARY – Srbobran
According to the existing documents, it is known that the first Serbian reading room in Srbobran was found in 1869. in the building of Serbian orthodox community.
Today it is the National Library Srbobran which is placed in the wonderful house of Gavanski family, built in 1901. The National Library has its branches in Turija and Nadalj. The book fund there are about 44000 books in Serbian and Hungarian language, as well as the rich community collection.
The National Library Srbobran is registered as the publisher. In the past four years, six books of the community writers were published.
Aside its main purpose, library employees offer their neighbours many cultural happenings like literature evenings, thematic lectures, art exhibitions…
