KAŠTEL – Panonija

The castle was built in 1846 for the noble Falcione family. The castle was conducted by Count Arpad Falcione, and a park around the building was completed no sooner than in1870 when the estate was managed by Arpad II Falcione. It is situated on the farm “Panonija” in the vicinity of Bajša. The building is modest single story building, located in a very orderly spacious park.

The castle was built in the spirit of mature classicism with all the features that are appropriate to the architectural style of castle. The portico over the main entrance is in the central part of the elongated rectangular foundations. It is supported by four massive pillars ending with Ionic capitals, above which is a flat architrave with the year of construction engraved. Entrance is massive, and there are two windows at the door side.

The massive four-sided roof contributes to the elegance and simplicity of the building. by Rhythmically placed windows, in which the internal layout is reflected contribute to exceptional proportions of the castle. Authentic work of art from the era of Classicism are definitely decorative protectors of wrought iron on the window holes. In the interior, several mirrors, soiled furnace, flooring – parquet, doors and windows, a desk, stucco decoration and a small library have been preserved.

Today the building serves as a museum with authentic items from the castle. Inside he castle,there is a green banquet hall with antique furniture, a big red hall and a homey atmosphere hall, so called Vojvodjanska hall. In the complex of the castle there is a hotel-restaurant “Biser”. During the tour in September 2006, the existing state of the castle and the park was ideal. The entire complex around the castle is arranged for relaxation and enjoyment.
