Bean Festival – Novi Bečej

This bean cooking event grows year after year, attracting an increasing number of visitors who, alongside a rich cultural and artistic program, enjoy high-quality food and a great atmosphere.

The aim of the event is to bring together the people of Novi Bečej for what has already become a traditional, family gathering held every year on the quay, more precisely on the plateau in front of the Gradište marina, or as older residents of Novi Bečej remember it, the place where the ferry crossing and the ferryman’s house once stood.

In addition to a large number of cooking teams, many residents of the Municipality of Novi Bečej and surrounding areas come to taste this famous Serbian specialty, prepared by skilled local cooks.

The very name “Opasuljivanje” suggests a play on words meaning to “come to one’s senses,” emphasizing that the most important thing is socializing and togetherness. For this reason, everyone who enjoys competition, social gatherings, and good company is invited to the beautiful town of Novi Bečej.
