APATIN FISHERMEN’S NIGHTS – Apatin

The Fishermen’s Nights are the most popular event with a long tradition held in Apatin. According to the program that has been established over the years, the Fishermen’s Nights last for four days. The official opening is on Thursday, and the closing is on Sunday. The program is very rich and includes a large number of cultural, artistic, sports, and entertainment events.

One of the most beautiful traditions of the “Apatin Fishermen’s Nights” is the preparation and competition in cooking Apatin fish paprikaš. Competitors go through two qualifying evenings to earn a place in the final, where the winner receives the “Golden Cauldron” trophy.

PROGRAM:

Competitors whose place of residence is within the territory of Apatin apply for Thursday, July 2, the first day of the event.

All competitors living outside the municipality of Apatin (other municipalities, cities, or competitors from other countries) apply for Friday, July 3.

Saturday, July 4 is reserved for the grand final, where 15 representatives from villages in the Apatin municipality, 10 participants from Apatin, 10 competitors from other municipalities and cities, as well as 5 previous champions will compete.

The registration fee for participation in the qualifying rounds on July 2 and 3 is 4,000 RSD, while participation for all finalists is free of charge.

Applications are submitted at the premises of the Tourism Organization of Apatin, at Trg Nikole Tesle 13, every working day from 08:00 to 14:00 (payment of the registration fee is mandatory upon application).

SUNDAY, July 5 is planned for the grand EXHIBITION EVENING, when the best fish stews are cooked without a competitive element, marking the closing of the event. By tradition, all tables for this evening are located directly in front of the stage where the entertainment program takes place (performance by the music group “Niške mambe”), and the participation fee for this evening is slightly lower and amounts to 3,000 RSD.
