The church was built in 1862. It was proclaimed a cultural monument in 1977, and in 1991 it was categorized as a cultural heritage of great significance. It is a one-nave building oriented in the direction west-east, covered by gabled roof. The bell tower stands out above the eastern part of the building. The facade is separated by socle, pilasters and profiled entablature wreath. The square based sacristy is in the south. The semi-circle altar apse is in the west, and in the east there is main portal flanked by wide pilasters. Apart from the embrasure, in the south there are four rectangle windows, and under the bell tower there is an oculus. The interior of the church is dominated by three altars and the quire in the east. The walls are covered in frescoes. The altars are decorated by ornaments and floral motives. Wall painting, the work of several artists from the middle of the 19th century, is exceptionally valuable in the building. Frescoes cover the ceiling and the altar of the church.
The wall paintings of the main nave were painted by a famous painter from Zagreb, Marko Antonini in 1899. The painting „St. Michael kills the Satan“ in the main altar was painted by a Hungarian painter Imra Vizkeletiy in 1862, while the painting „The Encounter of Our Blessed Lady with Jelisaveta“ in the altar on the right side was done by an unknown painter in the second part of the 19th century.
