The old orthodox church, dedicated to the Birth of the Most Holy Mother, was started to built from the base on the place of the previous church of the Entry of the Most Holy Mother in 1737, with the founder Živan Crnogorac.

Until 1744., it was finished only to do the primary church rituals, on September, 4. 1744. there was the first christening and on September, 7. the first wedding.

Around the church there are very old notes and monuments.

Inside the church there is the iconostasis of the great art value, made in engraving in the second half of the XVIII century. The upper row of the iconostasis represents the scenes from Christ’s life which was painted by the famous painter Teodor Kračun, who spend some time in Sremska Kamenica. Some of the icons were painted by Amvrosije Janković. The iconostasis was finished by the painter Stefan Gavrilović in 1800.

In this church is kept historically very important icon of Archangel Mihajlo (under the protection of the state), oil on the canvas from 1856., which except is the work of the famous Serbian painter of XIX century, Steva Teodorović, it also has art and historical value. In front of this icon in 1903., conspirators made an oath that they will throw off Aleksandar Obrenović, which was of the crucial importance for Serbia.

In the church there is also the Gospel written by hand in Lavovo in 1644, and gilded cross, which was given to Serbian delegation from the Russian Emperor Nikolaj I in 1854.
