THE CHURCH OF THE ASSUMPTION - Pančevo

It was built between 1807. and 1810. by the charity of benefactors. Between them was Karađorđe Petrović the leader of the First Serbian Rising. It was made in the baroque style with the elements of classicism. It is monumental one nave building with two belfries. The iconostasis was painted by Konstantin Danil in XIX century. Wall paintings are from the first half of the XX century and is the result of the group of artists tend to revive medieval painting, including the technique of fresco painting.
