On January,14th 1842. The First Serbian Reading Room was found in Irig. It’s work was interrupted during the First and Second World War. After it started to work again in 1952. it grew and enriched it’s activities. Today the reading room has the function of the registering library, and it covers all settlements in it’s community. At the moment in it’s funds it has about 35.000 titles, books, magazines, homeland collection, archive section, the collection of rare and old books as well as the collection of artistic works.
