Although famous as a cathedral, it is not a cathedral since the headquarters of the episcopate for Bačka is in Subotica. On the place where the parish church from 1742 was brought down in 1891, the present church in neo-gothic style was built. It was being built from 1893 to 1895, according to the project of an architect from Novi Sad, Ðerađ Molnar. The alter is decorated with Tyrolean carvings, on the windows there is Budapest stained glass, and the organs is the work of a Silesian master Jagerdorf. Above the entrance to the temple, there is the crest of Catholic Archdiocese.
