Nature Park "Tikvara" is located on the left bank of the Danube, stretching from its 1297th km until its 1305th km. In the area of this natural asset deciduous forests of softwood species dominate, and the entire area is interwoven with Danube branches as well as marshy surfaces. In addition to the dominant water ecosystem point, the Nature Park ''Tikvara'' also features an artificial stand of swamp cypress, designated as a natural monument — the Artificial Stand of Swamp Cypress (Category III).
This Monument of Nature of priceless value represents a floristic rarity for our region, of exceptional aesthetic and scientific value, and together with four plane trees, constitutes an invaluable asset.
The size of the waterway area is constantly changing depending on the water level of the Danube. Although Tikvara is the natural fish hatchery, changing water levels affect the holding period of certain species of fish in the blue zone and their migration in the Danube riverbed.
Most of the area belongs to public enterprise "Vojvodina- šume", SU Backa Palanka, but Public Enterprise Sports and Recreation Center "Tikvara" takes care of the park.
BEACH
"Tikvara" Beach is the largest beach in Bačka Palanka. It is situated on a very attractive location. On the north side is Tikvara Lake and on the south is the Danube. Because of its size and position, it is most visited during the summer months. It is connected to the mainland by a small bridge, so it is actually turned into a river island.
