MUNICIPAL LIBRARY - Kovačica

The central library of the community is in Kovačica. In it’s fund it has 25000 books equally divided on Serbian and Slovakian language.

The library has it’s branches and funds in every five settlements in the community. There are kept other 25000 books on four languages: Slovakian, Serbian, Hungarian and Romanian. The library in Kovačica also has it’s homeland fund where is at the moment about 500 titles. There are works which are directly or indirectly connected to the region where the community Kovačica is situated.

The task of the homeland fund and the bibliography is to collect everything which is published and copied, by printing or any other technique, on the specific geographical territory; everything that is published about the region, people, creators and creativity; about natural, social and spiritual products and the works of the authors who are somehow connected to the region.

The library is supplied with computers with the internet. Except that you can buy books there about Kovačica, which can be used as the souvenirs.

The community library in Kovačica also organizes cultural manifestations, literature evenings, recitals and book promotions. As the part of the library there work recital and literal section which publish the magazine on Slovakian language “Klasy”.

The library has it’s branches in Crepaja, Padina and Debeljača.
