The monastery Velika Remeta is situated in the eastern part of Fruska Gora Mountain, north-west of the village of the same name and the former village Velika Remeta, in whose area of today. Monastery Velika Remeta with its church dedicated to Saint Demetrius its tradition links to king Dragutin, but it is likely that it is constructed in the late 15th or the early decades of the 16th century. Under the name of Velika Remeta monastery was first mentioned in 1562. The church was constructed as a one-nave building with a dome and a narthex. Baroque bell tower, with which the facade of the church is totally aligned to, is erected in 1735 . Quarters were being built from 1722 until 1771.
