The International sausage festival "Klobasafest" is one of the youngest events in the municipality of Bački Petrovac, but that doesn't diminish its quality and popularity, as it is one of the most visited and popular events in the area. It was first held in 2016, and the date of its occurrence was then set to be during mid-February, at the time of the pig slaughter. From the very first year, the festival gained an international character.

The tradition of pig slaughter is slowly disappearing from our lives, and that's why this event is gaining more and more importance.  Sausage was an essential part of every traditional pig slaughter, where the entire family gathered. Today, pig slaughter is becoming increasingly rare, and only a few still preserve this custom and tradition of good taste.  To keep it from falling into oblivion, the organizers decided to showcase the making of this specialty and to represent our community that way.

To visualize themselves and the Petrovac brand - sausage, the Bački Petrovac local community organizes this unique event where numerous sausage producers are presented, and where specialties from other countries can be tasted. This event attracts an increasing number of participants and visitors every year.
