Padina is today, precisely because of its wells, called the village in which the “water changes.” Padina’s wells are deepest wells in the whole Banat region. Well digging started in 1814, and was funded by the state. Scope-wheels in Padina, today there are just three of them, may illustrate the zeal and struggle for survival of peasants from Padina. Today Šajben’s well is accessible for tourists, it has been restored and represents the example of Banat wells.
