SPECIAL NATURE RESERVE “MEADOWS OF GREAT BUSTARD” – Mokrin

The pastures of Great Bustard represent a special natural reservation, which is presented by a mosaic of steppe, salt marsh, meadow, swamp and arable land ecosystems, with rare plant and animal species, among which with its attractiveness Great Bustard certainly stands out. This area is the only habitat of this bird in Serbia, and one of the rare habitats in Europe and the rest of the world. Great Bustard has always been popular with hunters because of its specific and attractive looks, so that today there are only forty representatives of this species. The residents of the surrounding villages like Mokrin, Sajan and Jazovo have almost never seen this bird, since it is quite scared of people and it is very careful about its movements.
