When it is about the cultural heritage of this little town then the special place goes to famous Serbian poet, Milica Stojadinović- Srpkinja (1830-1878). She was born on July, 6th 1830. in Bukovac. Next year her father Vasilije, as being a priest, moved to Vrdnik. Since then this peaceful village in Fruška Gora becomes Milica’s homeland. There she will find happy life and beautiful nature, and she will write her first poem.
In her honor in 1975. there were found the Meetings of writers in the honor of Milica, and there are organized every October in Bukovac and Vrdnik. The host of this meetings is the Primary school “Milica Stojadinović- Srpkinja” in Vrdnik and of the same name the section of the library and the reading room in Vrdnik.
