The central place in the municipality of Sečanj if we talk about fishing, occupies, the river Tamiš and a drainage network system. The Tamiš enters Vojvodina north of Jaša Tomić village, making a natural border between Serbia and Romania. It is a typical lowland river with a large number of small and large meanders (backwater). The Tamiš flows through the municipality of Sečanj in the length of 38 km.
The dense canal network consists of a main route of the canal DTD, Brzava and a series of smaller channels.
In the municipality there are five artificial lakes – ponds for carp breeding stretching over the area of 3,000 ha. This water wealth provides opportunities to enjoy in fishing and sports -recreational activities.
