The orthodox east Serbian church “The rising of the Most Holy Mother of God” in Pivnice was built in the middle of the XVIII century. The building of the church started in the bad time and lasted for almost 15 years. After the big epidemic of plague which lasted for two years in this area since 1738. till 1740. Whose centre was in Parabuć and Pivnice, many citizens have died and many have moved to other places. Apart from all this problems the church was built in 1746., parts of the equipment and church objects were taken from the old church, whose ruins were standing for many decades. At the same time when the church was building it was the obligation to build the church, where first teachers were priests and the first non-priest teacher in Pivnice in 1754., was magister Teodor.
In the period from 1728.-1738. in Pivnice was built new church which was found in the old notes and books from that period. In Pivnice were six priests and 145 houses. The names of the priests were not kept. Ten years later, according to the eparchy written documents of priests and their properties in Pivnice in 1743. priest Jovan with brother Stevan and priest Stevan with brother Nović, and in the village were only 73 “tax heads”. In the period from 1743. and 1765.there was not known the sequence of priest coming to Pivnice. After 1780., there are only two priests in Pivnice and it remained like that almost till the XX century.
Significant reconstruction and restoration of the church was done after 46 years, when the church maybe got it’s look as we know it today. It was done in 1793., and thereis the note about that on the inner side of the altar in 1754.
Until today there are kept books from the XVIII century which are not used any more where you can find notes about the donors, important events as well as the protocol about born people, married and died which are taken since 1768. till today.
