After the first Vatican synod (1869-1870), one group of bishops unsatisfied with the decisions of the synod (Dogma of Pope’s unerring), decided to fight for so-called old-catholic church. As in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia there were a lot of citizens who declared themselves as old-catholic, by adaptation of the old building at the beginning of Molinari’s park in Petrovaradin after 1937., it was enlarged by entrance hall and bell tower with the clock. During the Second World War the members of the old-catholic church were exiled and the church was called the sect. After the War the church continued it’s work but with smaller number of believers and less of funds. By donations of believers the church was restored in the mid 70’s of 20th century.
At the end of 70’s and at the beginning of 80’s of 20th century the old-catholic church from Utrecht, whose part was the Yugoslavian religious community, went to protestant form of Christianity. Such a different church organization is called The Syndrome of Orthodox churches of West ritual and the church of St. Antun in Petrovaradin is called West-Orthodox church.
