The area of Trskovača Pond is placed under the protection of nature as protected habitat and is classified as Category III of protected natural resources. It is located in the municipality of Ruma, close to the village Platičevo. It covers an area of about 168 ha.
Trskovača Pond was placed under the protection in order to preserve the natural spawning sites of rare and endangered species of fish such as tench and crucian crap, as well as the habitats of characteristic marshy wetland ecosystems and wetland vegetation in wasteland (reeds, shrubberies, reeds, willow marsh) and undertake the actions and activities to preserve and revitalize the natural habitats of wild plant and animal species. In the pond area the protection regimes II and III were established. Mode protection level II covers an area of about 43 ha, and the regime of protection of grade III covers an area of about 125 ha.
